With a will to survive, please help Maggie on her road to a long happy life.
Auckland
At 2-3 weeks old, Maggie hasn't been dealt the best hand. Found in the pouring rain, covered in maggots and fleas, full of worms and a nasty cat flu which has since taken her vision.
For the last week of 2 hourly feeds, antibiotics and eye drops Maggie who weighs only 200grams has a will to survive! Unfortunately, all the foster services are full - the SPCA, lonely miaow and local rescues cannot take her in to bring her up to full health, and even if they had the space they have limited funds available for the costly treatments she will undergo in the coming weeks.
We need your help! We would love to give her the opportunity to a long life, however we cannot afford to do this ourselves. Maggie is going to require antibiotics and eye drops and vet checks for the coming weeks, strict dietary requirements along with surgery to remove her ulcered eye which alone is $700. We will then look for the perfect home for Maggie and desex and microchip her so she is ready for her new owners.
UPDATE: Maggies eyes have taken a turn for the worse. Her right eye has ruptured and needs to be urgently removed. Her 'good' left eye, now has puss pooling under the scar tissue left from the flu, and will also need to be removed at the same time. She has pain relief and is still her playful carefree self.
Every little bit will go a long way. We are aiming for $1500 to cover the removal surgery, food + milk, medication, vet checks, blood work, desexing and microchipping.
Eye removal surgery, food + milk, medication, vet checks, blood work, desexing and microchipping. If anything exceeding our requirements for Maggie is raised I would like to donate it to SAPS (South Auckland Puppy Surrender) who have kittens in their care.
Thank you for all your help 9 March 2020
We have received Maggies ashes back today and she will be laid in peace.
