Memphis - Journey to recovery and to be able to chase his ball again

Our precious baby boy Memphis, who is 10 months old, was in a terrible accident yesterday Friday 8th November when he was hit by a car outside our house.
I took him straight to the vet to find out he had a bleeding lung and severely broken back leg. We transfered him to the vet hospital in Hamilton last night. He will be having surgery on Wednesday by a specialist in Hamilton. They can't put him under anesthetic till his lungs and liver are strong enough to handle it. It's only been not even 24 hours and we are already at the $2500 mark 😭
We have pet insurance to a limit of $5000 and his surgery is estimated at $4800...
Our life has changed just like that, we are picking him up tonight as we can't afford to keep him at the hospital so I'm taking the week of work at least to nurse him till Wednesday and he can get his surgery.
He has to go back to the vet on Monday to check if his liver enzymes and if his lungs are strong enough for surgery.
After the surgery he will be hospitalized again for gosh know how long till he is stable enough to come home. They are saying it's going to be a 12 week recovery time.
I've never been in this situation and we thought we were prepared but nothing prepares you for this.
Ive never asked for help like this either but our Memphis is our world and his life has only just begun so if anyone can help by donating, there are no words to explain how grateful we would be, we just want him back on 4 paws and being able to chase his ball again 🥰

Vet check today 9 days post surgery 22 November 2024
Vet couldn't of been happier with Memphis, healing incredibly well, his wounds look great, everything normal and awesome cone only when unattended and then in another week we should be able to get rid of it!! xrays have been brought forward to 6 weeks, said we were remarkable with how well we were doing with crating him and it's making all the difference. So only 5 weeks to go now to check his bones 😁😁😁SO SO proud of him 🥰🥰
