Help put Momo back together after his car accident! He made the long journey home, dragging his back legs, he deserves a life for that!
Auckland
This year has already been a HUGE year for our family, my boys especially. Their beloved grandpa recently passed away, and at the same time, grandmas dementia excelerated due to the loss of her husband. And covid has taken a huge toll on my business. Then last Thursday, our cat Momo went missing. He was gone all day. His sister, Cece was following me around meowing at me to help her find him. We looked all night but there was no sign of him. Then at 3am, I heard a faint cry and a thump as he managed to get himself through the cat door. He was a mess. His foot literally hanging off. He just collapsed in my arms and passed out. I held him till 7.50am the rushed him up to the vets at Parkhill for 8am opening. They took him straight away. He was assessed and we were given two choices. Either try to reattach his foot, or put him down. I couldn't do it to the kids. We had to save him.
He is only a year old so we were told recovery would be good.
After just getting back on our feet after our tragic start to the year, this was a real blow.
Its not in my nature at all to ask for help, and those who know me I'm sure would agree, but this is just more than we can handle at this time.
The vet bill is huge, and I questioned my decision to not euthanase Momo. But the look on my boys faces when I suggested it, and then there is Cece, his sister.
They are so bonded, she would die of a broken heart.
So I thought, it's worth a shot. For the price of a cup of coffee, can you help? Every dollar will help.
Thanks for reading. Time is precious these days. And thank you in advance.
Vet bills to a full recovery which we are told is entirely possible.
Fully Recovered! 27 August 2021
I'd just like to say one more BIG Thank You to all that donated to Momos recovery. He is now pretty much back to himself, except when he has a big playfight with his sister and slightly over does it. he then promptly puts himself in his igloo for a couple of days to rest. He is still a bit sore but 99% there. We couldnt have managed without your help. It has inspired me to donate more regularly to other causes on Give a Little (spreading the love), most recently to the young children of Lawrance Bennett who was tragically killed in a car accident leaving his two young children behind with their mum stuck overseas while trying to finalise her residency. My heart goes out to those two little girls. Let's spread love in lockdown!
Thank you so much steve. Momo has made a great recovery, still has a bit of a limp, but apart from that he is in great shape. Staying in at night now and not getting into trouble. Thank you for your kindness
