Murphy needs help

Help with the vet bills for our rescued kitten found on a main road.

Auckland

Yesterday, (Monday 25th Feb) I was driving to tech and happened to look down at the road. There was this TINY wee black kitten in the middle of a busy 4 lane road!! People hadn't noticed him and those that had weren't stopping, it was scary!

I stopped my car in the middle of peak hour traffic and scooped him up.

Once at the vet's they estimated he is about 4 weeks old, they asked if I wanted to surrender him, It was such an emotional experience having saved him that I couldn't give him up.

They had to put him under general anesthetic to clean up his leg and he's on antibiotics. The bill came to $200.

We have decided to call him Murphy as he must have the luck of the Irish 🍀 to have survived on that main road

I am a Mum of 3 who is studying part time and while it was my choice to take ownership of the kitten I am asking people to see it in their hearts to donate to help us out with his vet bills, he will need more vet visits in a few weeks if not earlier.. I will know more this week if he uses his back legs or not, he is currently not walking properly.

I would really appreciate if people could see it in their hearts to help Murphy and us out with his bills.. I anticipate it to total $500 - $600 all going well. Any money that isn't used on his vet costs will be donated to Charity (probably the SPCA). I will provide copies of all vet reciepts for viewing as well.

Another vet cisit  11 March 2020

Hi guys,

We had a small hiccup and Murphy had to be admitted to the vet's for monitoring as he was throwing up and had diarrhea. We have him on some new food for easy digestion and have worked him so I am hoping that it's all sorted now.

He will have his stitches out next week. Then it'll be his vaccinations next...wow it's a bit full on that's for sure 😁

Thank you all again for your support 🙏

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
