Natalie has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and I am raising funds to support her and 18 month old son so she can make quality memories.

Life is a journey, not a destination!
Lets make Natalies journey special, enjoyable, full of memories and moments with her son.
Natalie has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. The stage and type of cancer she has is quite aggressive and she hasn't been given a good prognosis. Natalie is determined to out live the odds and be in the 4% that has a longer duration.
This page has been set up to raise funds to help Natalie achieve her goal. The funds will go towards some of the following.....
Childcare to allow Natalie crucial rest.
Small outings to make memories with her son.
Additional costs incurred with treatment.
Opportunities for important family time with her mum and sister etc.
Funds to leave some memories and treasures for her son.
I'm involved because Natalie is my lifelong friend. We are very close and I want to support her any way I can.
Pros and Cons 20 February 2016
So a lot has been happening since the last update.
Natalies chemo has been stopped at present. The hospital is happy with the progress and feel that the progress is at a point she can have a rest from it. Natalie's weight has started dropping again though so the priority at present is to deal with that. At a tiny 38kg, it is really important that she puts on a little weight, particularly is chemo is needed again in the future.
The problem here is that although Natalie has a feeding tube, its not been enough to keep her weight on and Oral feeding had become non -existent.
Natalie went into hospital last week to have a stent put in her Oesophagus. The doctors discovered that it only had an opening of a few mm. The stent is now in place and Natalie has been able to eat tiny bits of soft food but unfortunately the disadvantage of the procedure is that it stops the valve working which causes her reflux and sleeping has to be more upright.
She is staying very strong and positive and we are all very proud of her.
