NEW 'HOME' FOR JAPAN KAURI EDUCATION TRUST
Help Us To Continue Serving the Japanese Community in Auckland!Auckland
It's been almost five years since we at the Japan Kauri Education Trust (JKET), started its operation in the current location in Glenfield, Auckland. We operate a Japanese Children's Library and Japanese Heritage Centre (Japanese language education classes) in community, serving 200+ Japanese/Japanese descendant families as well as 4 Japanese playgroups which involve more than 200 families living in greater Auckland area. In recent years, we started our new role as a 'social security blanket' for our Japanese community. With this new role we aim to help those who are struggling with domestic problems and connect them to local social services.
On the 4th June, we were ordered to vacate our current premises in 20 days. The landlord decided to cease their business in Glenfield location due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Your generous donation will go towards the moving cost, the rent for the new location, and other necessary operation costs.
$30,000 is the minimum amount to rent a commercial property big enough to hold two classrooms and a library with 10,000+ books. Even if we rent spaces at a local community house, it will cost us approximately $8000 per school term.
At this moment, it is not determined where we could move into - we are still searching the best places that will match our needs and activity criteria.
Updates will be posted here and shared on our Facebook page : www.facebook.com/inchJ
JKET is not just another library or Japanese language school for our students and patrons. WE ARE ANOTHER HOME. Please let us keep their home alive so that we can always be there to support them as they grow up and lead their life here in Auckland.
We truly appreciate for your kind support!

Today we hosted Japanese Storytime Marathon & Bake Sale as our last event at the current location. What an amazing day! So many people came and this empty library space was filled with smiles and laughter once again before we move out completely this week. Thanks again for your continued support everyone. We sincerely hope we can see you in our future location sometime soon!
