Help Support CDC on their Northern Pilgrimage

$200 of $2,000 goal
Given by 4 generous donors in 10 weeks

Help CDC spread the Good News to schools and parish communities as they go on their annual Northern Pilgrimage.

Northland

Every year, CDC travels north to explore significant places in NZ's Christian heritage, and learn more about how the Gospel arrived in this land.

Students experience the culture and hospitality of a marae, and spend time in parishes and schools throughout Northland, presenting their testimonies and leading adults and young people into an encounter with Christ.

Departing from Auckland, CDC will travel up the west coast to the Hokianga to visit the resting place of Bishop Pompallier - the French Bishop who was instrumental in bringing the Catholic faith to Aotearoa New Zealand. The Pilgrimage will continue north to Kaitaia and Cape Reinga, then down the east coast, stopping at the Bay of Islands and Whangarei.

Please consider making a donation. You will be sharing in the work of CDC, supporting us in the formation of our students, and helping to fan the flame of Catholic faith in Northland.

About us

‘Go, make disciples of all nations’ (Mt 28:19)

CDC is a nine month immersion in Scripture, prayer, philosophy and theology, lived in community open to mission.

Our students study philosophy as a preparation for theology. We challenge them to live a life of prayer and fraternal love, centred on the Word of God and the Holy Eucharist, free from attachment to social media and the culture of entertainment.

The formation offered at CDC includes personal studies, regular classes by specialist lecturers, spiritual direction, pilgrimages, retreats and conferences. Students share household tasks and leadership, and take part in outreach missions and recreation activities. All this supports a purification in the truth, opening the heart to a personal intimacy with Christ.

Use of funds

Funds raised will go to covering the cost of the trip:

- One thousand kilometres of driving for two cars

- Food costs

- Ferry ride to Russell and Motuti

- The Pompallier Tannery Visitor Centre in Russell

- Stone Store Visitor Centre in Kerikeri

CDC will spend time with parish communities, school children, and youth groups, sharing testimony and witnessing the Gospel to all those they meet.
