New Zealand Conservation Trust (NZCT) is committed to protecting Aotearoa’s unique wildlife and restoring the mauri (life force) of our natural environments. Building on the success of Operation Nest Egg with Willowbank, we now deliver hands-on conservation education and practical pest control projects.

Education: We inspire thousands of tamariki (children) each year to become kaitiaki (guardians) of nature through free and low-cost programmes for schools, early childhood centres, community groups, and retirement villages—bringing native species directly to learners and fostering intergenerational change.

Predator Control: Our volunteers maintain trap lines in Christchurch and Lewis Pass, removing introduced predators and protecting threatened species. In the Styx River reserves and Carlyle Valley alone, we’ve removed over a thousand pests, helping ecosystems recover and native wildlife thrive.
