A charity event, 'Row away the Blues'. Over 100 people will be rowing a marathon distance by raising funds for Maori Mental Health
Canterbury
Winter can be a depressing time of the year. Not just because it’s cold, but because lack of community going outdoors and getting Vitamin D, the shorter days makes it harder to focus and stay on task.
NZBMA believes we can host a charity rowing event (on rowing machines) with a heavy community focus on helping educate and build awareness for young people with depression and assist with their mental health. We will host this this during the day Saturday, 7th September 2019. With this in mind, we aim for a 10, 8, 6-week suggested plan that people can subscribe to participate in over the colder months to reach their individual or team targets. This also gives a great chance for people to interact, train and banter together during the winter months.
The event will be marathon distance, where there are four options: Individual, duo, group of four and Group of eight. All will raise funds for a Maori Mental Health through Purapura Whetu. One thing they do well is provide free counselling services as well as a 'Holistic' approach to mental health.
We believe this is a great cause and are excited to get participants of the event also raising funds to raise a great number for the cause. We look forward to your help on this journey.
We are raising funds as part of our charity event 'Row away the Blues'.
All funds raised here will go towards the selected Charity Purapura Whetu
