To educate and build awareness for people with depression and mental health particularly those within ‘Purapura Whetu‘,
Canterbury
Ever been to the gym and seen the rowing machine sitting alone and empty in the corner? Most (not all) people avoid them like a plague. They look difficult to use, nobody smiles on them and sometimes it hurts!
But, they're great way of staying fit, especially for those of us whose knees have given up and aren't able to run anymore.
So the indoor rower has become my "thang" and what better way to see if "I've still got it" than rowing a marathon. 42,195m without a river in sight!
But it's for a great cause. Row away the Blues is raising money to help with awareness and education around Maori youth mental health and depression.
You've got the easy job, just give generously. I'll do the hard stuff!
I'm rowing a marathon as part of the Row Away the Blues event to raise funds to help educate and build awareness for young people with depression and assist with their mental health particularly those within the community for ‘Purapura Whetu‘ who is a charity that focuses on Maori Youth and Mental Health.
