Keep Queenstown Rolling: Help OneBike Rescue, Repair, and Rehome Bikes!

$0 donated
Started 6 days ago

OneBike, by Lightfoot Initiative, rescues and repairs bikes for Queenstown locals. Donate to help us keep cycling accessible to all!

Otago, Queenstown Lakes District

OneBike, by The Lightfoot Initiative, rescues and repairs unused bikes to provide sustainable, accessible transport for the Whakatipu community.

We take unused, donated bikes, assess them for safety, and restore them at our Frankton hub. Once ready, they are rehomed to local residents who need reliable, low-emission, affordable transport. Unusable spare parts are recycled to keep waste out of landfill, while our hub provides a welcoming space for locals to fix their own bikes and attend bike maintenance workshops.

How Your Donation Helps

$25 – Equips a bike with new brake pads, brake cables, and gear cables for safe stopping and smooth shifting.

$50 – Provides a new chain to replace a worn or rusted drivetrain.

$100 – Covers essential new rubber: fresh tyres, inner tubes, and comfortable handlebar grips.

$250 – Funds new specialist tools or a heavy-duty workstand for our community maintenance workshops!

Why We Need Your Support

While donated bikes give us a great foundation, turning a forgotten cycle into a safe daily commuter requires fresh components. Wear-and-tear items frequently need replacing before a bike can safely hit the road or trail.

To keep our workshop stocked with essential replacement parts, maintain our tool library, and offer free maintenance workshops to the community, we rely on your generosity.

Your support keeps our workshop open, reduces waste & connects locals with healthy transport.

About us

OneBike is all about getting more people on bikes to keep them moving. Our vision is a barrier-free, bike-friendly Queenstown where everyone can go faster by using reliable, low-emission transportation.

Use of funds

Donations made on this page are dedicated directly to OneBike. As part of Lightfoot, funds are allocated to OneBike’s workshop costs & community programmes. While Lightfoot retains flexible governance across the trust, your koha directly supports OneBike.
