“Operation: Make Sydney Heart-y Again!”

Sydney urgently needs a tricuspid valve repair, and the sooner he can receive it, the better. His valve has a severe leak that’s taking a real toll on his health and limiting his ability to be the active father, stepfather, and partner he strives to be. Anyone who knows Sydney knows he’s the first to show up for others—whether it’s at the local box-fitness class, organising community basketball scrimmages, or still turning up to cheer everyone on even when he’s too unwell to join in. He’s a larger-than-life character who jokingly calls himself “the Grinch” or channels his hero Darth Vader, but we all know he’s a softy with a huge heart… and thanks to the scans, we now have medical proof that it’s literally too big! Please help us raise funds to support Sydney through his surgery and recovery, so he can get back to doing what he does best—lifting up everyone around him.

The surgery can be publicly funded however, the current wait times means that the longer the wait for surgery the higher the chance of a negative outcome, this is the reason we are going privately.
