Our Little Miracle
Help the Deer Family get back on top after a stressful journey with their wee boy Edison.
Marlborough
On 20 May 2021 Lisa and Maikara were flown to Wellington Hospital and had to make the hardest decision of their lives. Lisa was 23 weeks 3 days pregnant with their 2nd child but complications with the pregnancy meant they had to make the decision to have their wee boy delivered by cesarean section the next day. Weighing just 510gm wee Edison Alexander Deer was born. This wee boy had a battle ahead not to mention the stressful times ahead for his mum and papa. While in Wellington Edison underwent 2 hernia operations and 2 laser surgeries on his eyes. 160 days in NICU in Wellington then 13 days back home at Wairau Hospital before he could go home to be with his family. Still on oxygen and medication Edison is doing well but now has to go to Starship hospital for more surgery on his left eye. The journey continues...

Use of funds
The money will be used to help the Deer family get back on track financialy. They lost weeks of income while in Wellington so need a boost to help them get back on track with their mortgage etc.

Our Super Star 25 November 2022
Our little Super Star is doing really well. He's still having ongoing appointments with the physio, speech therapist and the optometrist. Edison has to wear an eye patch for an hour a day to strengthen his right eye now. He Hates it of course lol, but we try and keep him busy and distracted. Edison is very determined to stand but we aren't allowed to encourage it because he needs to sit first. His big sister adores him and makes him laugh all the time. All in all he is one amazing happy little boy and we couldn't be more proud of him.
We also would like to thank my mum who started our give a little page. It's been a huge help and we appreciate it so much. To everyone who donated, it's really meant a lot to us and we want to thankyou all from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness and support has been amazing and has certainly helped with our journey. Edison brings so much to our wee family and we couldn't be happier with his progress, his smile and laughter fills our home and hearts daily.
