YURT REBUILD for Pierre and Janelle
Our yurt - our creative labour of love and new place we have called home since April 2023 - destroyed and uninhabitable.

Our yurt - our new place we call home - .is no longer standing or habitable.
One year's labour of love, finding the dollars to have a yurt built by a local company and us building a little cabin for shower and compost toilet, and crafting what's inside our yurt gave us a place to finally call home. We moved in in April this year and our home environment has been an evolving creative project where we've put our heart, soul and man-power into it.
Wind gust just pre-Christmas, on what we now know to be, in our opinion, a less-than well-built yurt, has demolished the yurt, so we start at ground zero again.
We appreciate you getting behind the two of us. You know us as incredible hard-workers, strong community advocates, supporters of many a charitable event, strong in the face of adversity and generous souls.
Our goal is not be homeless in the Central Otago winter.
Use of funds
Thankfully we have yurt platform & our "utilities" cabin & we've salvaged our contents. With the funds,we will buy a more robust yurt from a reputable company. If we don't meet target, we will aim for a deposit and then find a way.

Wow. You were a very important part of our yurt rebuild. Merci from the bottom of our hearts.
And heh, we got back home to our yurt about 3 weeks ago. Stronger. Better. And just two days ago the fireplace was reinstalled. Yippee to feeling cosy when it is freezing outside.
Community generosity made up of people like you is remarkable. Keep sharing the love as we too love to do.
