Get Felix the surgery and recovery he deserves
Taranaki, Stratford District
Please help and support us during this time. Our fur baby Felix the 10 month old kitty. He got hit by a car or a truck last night. He is at the vets since last night and we need scrumble to come up with thousands for his stay, pain relief, surgery and after surgery care. Hopefully tomorrow morning they can start on surgery.
Yes I know I should have got him insured. My plan was to get better myself and back to work to help my husband with bills and have Felix covered. I suffer from FND (Functional Neurological Disorder) I was working up to 1 and half years ago. I suffer from seizures and myself need Gastroenterology surgery.
I fell in love with Felix soon after he was born and he was not responding after he was born pronounced dead at birth. I did not give up and preformed cpr until I heard those little cries. I looked after Felix since 3 weeks old bottle feed him train him.
He is such a big part of our lives. Felix is like a support cat for me. I dont get out much, stuck on the farm and felix keeps me company. We fell in love with him.
Your support will help us help Felix. We diffently will make sure we get him pet insurance we owe this to Felix. Thank you so much

Felix develop a sore after surgery 16 October 2022
UPDATE on Felix, I have added new photos. Felix had a sore. We didn't know about until 4 days later. I Remember there was a bit of clue stuck to his skin and fur. We thought it was from the surgery while the monitoring his vitals during surgery. We couldn't wash it off, was only a little. Felix got thick fur and I thought it will come off by itself. Oh how I want to kick myself, I knew Felix had an follow up with vets and we would have asked to look at it if not coming off. 4 Days after stitches came off we noticed he licking one spot alot and thought it was still pain. He was still on pain meds but had to see vet to reduce the pills. I was shocked to see that Felix managed to pull the fur where the clue was and made a sore. In a couple of days he has licked the sore to a big sore. We rushed back to the vets. He is back on stronger pain meds and cream to treat him. We have to air dry the sore and at night cover with the cream. My poor baby have the cone back on and vest at night. He is really not in good place. However the Other vet said he wasn't on enough pain relief and used the sore as it comfort him. We knew he was and had this question a few times at the vets and they recond he was on enough pain meds. We know now he wasn't coping. Since Felix is on strong meds he is more calmer and more snuggled. After a week we will see if he needs to have less pain meds. It's day 3 and the wound is looking dry but needs lots of healing. I do feel bad for not keeping an eye on it sooner and mention the glue when we had him at the vets when stitches was taken out. Thank you to all that have been supported us we appreciate it very much.
Thank you very much ❤️
