Please help our beautiful 1.5yo Ragdoll Bella and give her the best chance at fighting her unexpected health battle!
Auckland
Bella is our young 1.5 year old Ragdoll. She hasn't been herself the past two weeks, & after multiple vet visits it seems our beautiful girl was masking all her sickness. But nothing could have prepared us for yesterday!
Whilst shaving her stomach, she unexpectedly was found jaundice. Blood work confirmed a markedly elevated ALT (highest range is 100, hers was 1233!). Abdominal ultrasound showed severe infection throughout her liver & gallbladder & a blocked gallbladder & large mass! We do not know if it is cancer, but the mass contained free gas bubbles so we're holding hope!
Bella had life saving surgery last night, they couldn't leave it the weekend in fear that it would rupture! As much of the infection cleared, a stent put in her gallbladder, culture/biopsys taken.
She remains in hospital extremely unwell with sedation, IV, painkillers, a feeding tube.
We are heart broken & absolutely devastated! As most of you are aware its been a very difficult time for our family with my unexpected emergency surgery/3 months off work. Reduced wages, Justin only launching his new business. plus another major surgery for me in 12 weeks time.
We don't like asking for this help, but would really appreciate any donation towards Bella's vet care to help alleviate some financial pressure. Her care until the end of the weekend is estimated to be $12-16,000 excl further testing & care. The next 72 hours are critical in regards to her outcome. We cannot give up on our beautiful Bella! 😭 💔

Bella had her sedation & repeat ultrasound and bloods yesterday. Bit of a mixed bag.
Marked improvement in her gallbladder wall and the bile is more normal than previous. Her liver remains diffusely abnormal on ultrasound, similar to her previous ultrasound. Unfortunately we were hoping for a bit better news in regards to her liver 😔 One good thing though is her blood work is looking much better. Her duodenal mass lesion appears static. Bella's bile ducts are still markedly distended as well.
She was shaved yest due to furrballs/ grooming causing additional inflammation. She was extremely cold lastnight and trembling so we got a knit for her.
She showed interest in food when she got home, but hasn't eaten at all over night or all day today, showing no interest 😢 And is wobbly on her feet.
I have now got some anti nausea for her in hopes that may be the issue post sedation. Unfortunately for now it means i will need to tube feed her if nothing improves over the course of the next few hours. Poor Bella, it seems neverending
