Without the drug he needs, Chris has three months to live. The financial pressure to fund his care that will save his life is overwhelming.
Tomarata, Auckland
A genuine hardworking Kiwi battler, Chris has been given 3 months to live without unfunded treatment for his multiple myeloma which has recently morphed into an even more aggressive form of blood cancer urgently requiring treatment with the unfunded drug Daratzumab. This drug, which Chris' hematologist strongly believes will save him, is funded in 49 countries but not in NZ. It will cost $135,000. I am desperately appealing for your help - a donation no matter how small to go toward funding this drug and giving Chris a real chance to continue his life with his loving wife Anna, his beautiful daughter, Willa, and his three boys under the age of ten. Frantically selling assets, farm machinery etc, Chris is a hardworking, intelligent, kind, and knowledgeable fencer who contributes volumes to his family, friends, and community. For many years, Chris coached the local soccer teams, also Rippa rugby in the summer and he is a big part of the athletics community. He is a dedicated fencer and his beautiful, big and most loyal huntaway, Benny, doesn't leave his side and of course like us all, does not wish to. Please find it in your heart to donate even a tiny amount.
Chris' mum who is 80+ years has lived in her home since the age of 18 and she will sell up and if necessary live in a caravan to help her boy. Anna, Chris's wife, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and suffered intense treatment, chemo, a dble mastectomy etc. Anna survived. With your help Chris will too.
Chris, a lifelong friend initially worked for me and my community for years. During this time, he and his gorgeous family became our friends, and I can 100% vouch for them. Chris is honest, hardworking and the mainstay of his truly deserving Kiwi family.
This appeal is to fund the life prolonging drug Daratzumab to treat Chris who has been diagnosed with PCL (plasma cell leukemia) to allow him to live.
Daratumumab is working! 6 June 2025
We can conclusively see that the Daratumumab is working. Chris' haematologist is very pleased with the results of the most recent blood test, which shows that he is very close to being in remission. This is absolutely fantastic news and we are all incredibly relieved. Long may it last! Thoughts and prayers appreciated immensely.
Thanks so much! We are so incredibly grateful for all of this. Chris, Anna and family x
