Please help this deserving family by donating towards the cost of Michelle's cancer treatments.
Hamilton, Waikato
Michelle is one of the most caring, loving and happiest people I know. She is always willing to help others and not one to ask for help. Michelle has a wonderful husband, Jason, and is an amazing mother to their son Hunter (15 months) and stepson Nixon (12 years old).
Sadly on the 22nd November 2022, Michelle was diagnosed with Stage 3B Melanoma. On the 19th December 2022, she under went surgery in which 50 lymph nodes were removed from her neck leaving significant scaring and nerve damage.
Michelle needs 12 months of Immunotherapy treatment which is required every 3 weeks via IV infusion. Immunotherapy treatment is going to cost $100k. Pembrolizumab, commonly known as Keytruda, is an approved but unfunded drug. Additionally, PET CT scans are $3k each and she regularly has to travel to Auckland for these appointments.
Nixon and Hunter mean the world to Michelle. She wants nothing more than to see them grow up and make lasting family memories. Jason is the love of her life and she wants nothing more than to grow old and enjoy cups of tea with Jason.
Please extend the same generosity and kindness that Michelle and Jason so often share with others by generously donating. Every little bit truly helps.
Michelle is my amazing friend who is like family to me, and it's an honour & privilege to call her family.
Immunotherapy treatments (Pembrolizumab), travel expenses and other bills as needed.
Here is an update from Michelle and how she is doing. 4 April 2023
This update has been a long time coming, sorry for such a delay!
I have just completed my third round of treatment and things are hopefully working well - only 14 more to go!
After a slight reaction to the first dose and 6hrs in A&E, a little more preparation is done before treatment which seems to be working.
I am looking to have another surgery in the coming months to fix a damaged/trapped nerve and to soften the main part of the scar to allow more movement in my neck.
Thank you to everyone who is supporting me through this journey - either financially or emotionally, it has been truely amazing xx
