Our beloved family pet Caramel was hit by a car today and will require emergency surgery tomorrow morning.
Wellington
Our beloved family pet Caramel was hit by a car today. He managed to crawl home to the front door where we found him miaowing. His back legs were not working properly so we rushed him to the vet who later, after X-ray, advised he had a spinal injury.
After consultation with other vets we were told that the only option, other than putting him to sleep, was to rush him to Massey University, Palmerston North, where he could have an emergency operation performed by the specialist there. We couldn't face saying goodbye, especially after losing his other half, Toffee, in a similar accident a couple of years back, and decided to try and save him even if it meant going into debt.
If anyone would be so kind and help us cover his operation cost we would be truly grateful. The estimated total is currently $8,000 of which we had to front 50% (credit cards).
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

Getting stronger 29 June 2020
Caramel is doing well and getting stronger every day. He does not like the crate and meows asking to be let out (typically between 1-4 am). When having physio he looks around as though he is planning his escape 😉 He loves being out on the, stretching and asking for tummy rubs.
Thank you - we are extremely grateful! 😊❤️😺
