Harry and Seb, 17-year-old students from Wakatipu High School, have dedicated themselves to rowing over the past four years. Many sacrifices & training in all conditions, they’ve risen to much national success – most recently winning two gold medals each & breaking a long-standing U18 doubles record at the Maadi Cup.

Their commitment and determination have earned them a spot on the NZ U19 Rowing Team!

Harry will train for 6 weeks in Cambridge before heading to Lithuania to compete in the Junior World Rowing Championships in the U19 Double.

Seb will spend a week in Cambridge preparing before flying to Ann Arbor, Michigan, to race in multiple events at the prestigious Continental Challenge Cup.

All while completing their NCEA Level 3 studies away from school, home, and family — an incredible challenge on top of 11 training sessions a week including gym, rowing machine, and water work.

These trips are solely self-funded, with Harry’s costs reaching $20,000 and Seb’s at $8,500.

Wakatipu Rowing Club is a small, volunteer-driven club who along with their families & friends have supported them – and now we need your help to get them across the line!
