Protect NZ heritage: Save the historic house of Tūhoe Prophet Rua Kenana
The protection of the historic residence of Tūhoe prophet, Rua Kenana.

Due to a proposed development, by our marae governance body, we will lose the immediate access and visibility of the historical house of our tipuna/ancestor Tūhoe prophet, Rua Kenana. He lived in this house at Matahi, Waimana after his period of incarceration at Mt Eden prison in 1916. This historical house remains an important source of spiritual healing and well-being for our people and is symbolic of the unique history and culture of Tūhoe and New Zealand as a whole.

Therefore please give your support to protect and save our heritage, the historic residence of Tūhoe Prophet, Rua Kenana.

Use of funds
We are seeking legal action against proposed site plan which will obstruct the historic residence of Tūhoe Prophet, Rua Kenana. Our target is $3,800.
If we are unable to reach our goal we will donate the money to help restore the historic house.
