If you get a chance to visit Coxs Bay in May and June it is when the Dotterels turn up in greater numbers so keep an eye out of them foraging on the mudflats during low tide. And of course please keep a safe distance and put your dog on the lead if you're near their nesting sites. Also a big thank you to Steve Meadows for this outstanding shot of a Kotare feeding in Coxs Bay.
