raising money to support my stepfather and mother while he is sick in jospital

Manawatu / Whanganui

For the past few years Rex(Raven) has been battling numerous health conditions including type 2 diabetes, mental health conditions, high blood pressure, he has had 2 partial amputations, an open foot ulcer that cannot be operated on due to his diabetes, and a pituitary tumor which is a tumor that forms in the pituitary gland near the brain that can cause changes in hormone levels in the body

The whole time he has put a smile on his face and made his way to his busking spot in Levin meeting and greeting locals just as he has done for the past 20 years, rain or shine without fail

Unfortunately last week rex was admitted into hospital with lungs filled with fluid

Today he had 3 litres of fluid drained from his right lung with more to be drained tomorrow.. they couldn't do it all at once for fear of putting Rex's body into shock where the fluid has been the lungs have hardened

After some tests the doctors have given a probable diagnosis of the dreaded "big C"

I will keep this page updated with updated diagnosis.

Rex's source of income has been his busking for many years and being in palmerston north he's very concerned about making ends meet..

Noone should have to worry about things like money when they're in hospital or in his condition so I've made this page for him so he doesn't have to stress about paying the bills or mum having enough money to visit him

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
