Roady For Roadies is raising money for MusicHelps, a charity that provides crisis support to roadies and crew in NZ.
Nationwide
Roadies and production crew are the often unseen but essential backbone of the live music events that we all enjoy. These roles can take their toll on those involved and while the shows are the obvious highlight, life in live music can be a very hand-to-mouth existence. When illness, injury, distress and hardship strike, life can become very hard, even desperate, very quickly.
"Roady For Roadies" is a hike along the fantastic 16km Coast to Coast walkway from Onehunga to downtown Auckland happening on Friday March 20. It's all to raise money for roadies and crew who are in trouble and need vital support.
The money raised will go to MusicHelps, a unique kiwi charity that provides tailored online, on the phone and in person professional counselling support free of charge to New Zealand roadies and crew experiencing distress and wellbeing issues. The charity also provides emergency financial assistance packages to live production people and their families who are suffering with illness, injury and hardship.
Here you can donate to show your support for those taking part on the Roady For Roadies walk and for the roadies and crew who work so hard to make our live music memories possible!
MusicHelps supports projects that use the power of music to help and heal New Zealanders in need. MusicHelps also provides vital support and hardship assistance to New Zealand's music people and their families in times of crisis.
Money raised from Roady For Roadies will fund free provision of professional counselling and other support services to production crew in the NZ music industry who are experiencing distress and hardship as a result of illness and injury.
