A Gift to Rochelle
Bay Of Plenty, Rotorua District
Hi Everyone
Firstly thank you for taking the time to read Rochelle's Journey and Donating to our amazing friend, who is also a Daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunty.
We Krystal and Therese are good friends of Rochelle's.
Our special Friend Rochelle is unfortunately and undeservingly going through a cancer journey that ultimately has the worst possible outcome.
Her journey has been long with fighting Acute Myeloid Leukaemia for the last 14 years, under going numerous treatments including (stem cell/bone marrow transplants) -multiple hospital stays in Auckland... To finally beating it twice...But it didn't stop there Rochelle then went on to developing Breast Cancer in 2021. Rochelle under went a radical mastectomy.
Then to top it all off Within the last few weeks Rochelle was told her breast cancer was back and It had metastasis in her bones (Right Hip, femur and Knee) Rochelle underwent a Total Knee Joint Replacement the bone was taken for
examination and it has been revealed to Rochelle this week that it wasn't Breast Cancer but that the Acute Myeloid Leukaemia has returned for the third time..Now her prognosis is sadly palliative care with not much time left on this earth.
So we need your help Rochelle needs quality time with her whanau. She needs her three sons Sam, Joel and Issac to be with her now more then ever. Sam and Joel live in Perth Australia and right now don't have the means to get over to NZ and we also need funds for funeral costs which are not cheap xx
Rochelle is like a big sister to me and friend I'll treasure forever
Getting Rochelle's sons Sam and Joel to New Zealand from Australia as well as Funeral Costs
I've made my decision 2 November 2023
Hello all you beautiful kind and generous supportive people.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you al again for your donations.
I have decided not to go through with the surgery.
There is just not enough information out there about it's safety and I don't want to leave it to chance.
I don't want to spend anymore time in the hospital. I'm really relieved knowing that I don't need to go back there for a while fingers x🤞
I intend to spend my time at home enjoying the spring and summer garden with my mum and my cat.
Unfortunately my eldest son may not be able to come over for a while but right now I'm feeling pretty good. I just get very tired very easily so I need a lot of rest but I otherwise feel ok.
The thing is, when you're having treatment you know exactly what's going on inside. When you're not having treatment it's a mystery. The disease could be growing fast or spreading and until it begins to cause pain or discomfort you really wouldn't know and by that time it could be too late but that's a chance I'm willing to take because being at home with family and friends and knowing mum's not having to run back and forward to and from the hospital is really what matters most to me.
I'll update again if anything changes but for now, stay groovy and enjoy the warm weather. If you're across the pond stay cosy my friends.
Lots of love 🌬️🔥🔥🔥💃🌟🌈💜
Thank you for your kind generosity Kim. I don't know how you knew but so many of those things you gave me were things that I needed. Thanks so much bless your heart ❤️
