Hi! I'm Fox and I'm a transgender man. In 2021, after 8 years of binding my chest, I was finally able to have chest masculinization surgery through the public health system in New Zealand. However, I was the lucky one - my fiancé and partner of over 6 years, Rowen, a fellow trans man, has been waiting over a DECADE now for the same surgery. Waitlists have gotten so bad where we live that they are no longer accepting surgical applicants, and the despair and hopelessness from knowing there may not be an end date to this pain is making it hard for him to keep going. Rowen is the love of my life and the sweetest person you will ever meet. He almost never complains, but binding for 10+ years has taken a deep toll on his mental and physical health and I don't know how much longer he will be able to cope with it...
He is turning 26 this August and it would be my dream to help him fund this genuinely life saving procedure before he turns 27. I am a full time student, working two part time jobs, and he works full time to keep us afloat, but we have only managed to save around 7k NZD. To make matters worse, he will need carpal tunnel surgery on both hands soon - costing around 5k as again public waitlists are closed.
Rowen fought me for years on starting a fundraiser because he didn't think he deserved it. Please help me show him he deserves a body he feels at home in. Help me show my partner he deserves to live. ❤️🏳️⚧️

Rowen is my partner! We've been best friends since 2017, dating since 2018, and plan to get married when we can afford it.
Use of funds
All funds will go to paying hospital, anesthetist's, and surgeon's fees for Rowen's chest masculinization surgery. If our target is not met, every penny counts towards saving for this.

Surgery Details 19 May 2025
Apologies for the huge gap in updates, life has been incredibly hectic. Over the past few months, we've reached out to a surgeon in Thailand and have narrowed down the full cost to $17000 NZD. This covers the surgery itself, accommodation for 2 weeks, flights to get there, and food and incidentals for that time. Due to the death of a close loved one, my grandmother, we now have just enough to pay for Rowen's surgery itself which we were quoted at a little over 11k NZD. However, doing the math and borrowing where we can, there's a serious potential we will have completely drained any savings with which to live off after the fact, and as Rowen is the only one out of the two of us with a full time job, our situation will be unstable and unpredictable. Both of us suffer from chronic mental and physical health conditions which makes day to day life expensive as is, but we will also be in dire straights should anything go wrong while abroad or after we return. We owe it to a sad twist of fate that we can use my inheritance to pay for this surgery for Rowen, and even though I know my grandmother would support this decision, no one should have had to die to facilitate my partner being able to live. I am so grateful to all of you who donated even a little bit, and I ask that we rally for the final push to make sure we can navigate this harrowing journey and come out the other side safely.
