$410 of $21,000 goal
Given by 11 generous donors in 27 days

Help us establish a Health Clinic in Rugari Burundi to provide care for Maternity, AIDS, Malaria, water born diseases and family health.

Auckland

This project will provide a healthcare clinic in Zone Rugari located in Commune Muyinga, Province Muyinga in Burundi. The dispensary will serve the population of the 12 hills of Zone Rugari including the neighbouring areas.

There is huge need for this clinic as the sole existing clinic cannot continue coping with the populations healthcare. Some people walk 12 to 15 kilometres for basic health services and then must go through triage to get medical attention. There are no appointments. Some patients must go back home after waiting the whole day without treatment.

We submitted this need to the government and the Ministry of Health and HIV/AIDS, has approved the establishment of the medical clinic which will help get access to basic healthcare and health education. Having access to the facility will significantly improve the health, economy and family and social life.

Our main goal is:

-Provide access to basic healthcare services

-Establish a self funding long term facility

-Primary health education for women and families

-Prevention for diseases, especially AIDS, Malaria and Typhoid

-Promote vaccination to reduce preventable disease.

-Offer good quality Maternity and womens healthcare.

-Emergency services
