Run for Us is Back in '22
Fundraising for a great little school in Wellington.
Newlands, Wellington
Newlands Intermediate School's annual “Run for Us” event will be held this year on Friday 13 May 2022.
This is a major fundraising event for our school but just as importantly it provides an opportunity for our students to set goals focussed on a physical activity, it encourages community participation in a fun event and fosters one of our core school values – participation and effort.
We set our circuit at 500m which means that our students will be able to complete measurable distances in kilometres i.e. 2 laps = 1 kilometre, 42 laps = 21km - a half marathon!
Students will run or walk throughout the day and keep a tally of how many laps they have achieved.
Please consider sponsoring one of our students as recognition of the distance they will cover or simply make a donation.

Use of funds
Our fundraising efforts this year are focused on providing new and good quality sports and recreation equipment, and providing equal opportunities for all students to participate in school- wide events.

The Final Tally 19 May 2022
Kia Ora Whanau and friends of the school from around the world.
This year's Run for Us has been epic! With generous donations coming in from all over the world. The participation on the day was astonishing, it's not until you tally up the laps and kilometres, do you get an appreciation of how far the kids at Newlands Intermediate have travelled. In 2019, the last time Run for Us was held, we covered 9500.5 KM! This year we set a new record of 9905.5 km. What a stunning effort!
During the day, 275 students completed a HALF MARATHON and 28 completed a FULL MARATHON. 4 of our students completed 100 laps. To achieve their 50km they were travelling at over 8km per hour! All this has been achieved by 11, 12 and 13-year-olds. We are so proud.
