A fun run Fundraiser for Newlands Intermediate School. 12,000 km is our 2026 goal.

Newlands Intermediate School's annual “Run for Us” event will be held this year on Friday 27 March.

This is a major fundraising event for our school but just as importantly it provides an opportunity for our students to set goals focused on a physical activity. The Run for Us encourages community participation in a fun event and fosters one of our core school values – participation and effort.

Every year we set our circuit at 500m, which means that our students will be able to complete measurable distances i.e. 2 laps = 1 kilometre, 42 laps = 21km = a half marathon!

Students will run or walk throughout the day and keep a tally of how many laps they have achieved.

Please consider sponsoring one of our students as recognition of the distance they will cover or simply make a donation.

Use of funds

Our fundraising efforts this year are focused on providing new, high-quality sports and recreation equipment, ensuring equal opportunities for all students to participate in school-wide events, and purchasing equipment to broaden our curriculum.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Run for Us. Even though the weather wasn't ideal, the kids had a blast. The grey skies and rain added an element of fun. Thanks also to all the parents who came to help out and watch the spectacle. Your support is always appreciated.

On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform.
