Run Phil Run

Let’s help Emma focus on getting Phil “running again” by taking the stress of some of the small stuff away.

Auckland

Hi everyone

As you may be aware last Wednesday Phil had a motorcycle accident that left him with serious fractures all over his body and a shattered pelvis which he will have to have extensive surgery for on the 20th September. But the big guy did not stop there, he had a laceration of his spleen and had to be resuscitated twice on the table which left his family and friends crossing everything that he’d make it through. He has now been transferred to the orthopaedic ward and awaits surgery. He is in a lot of pain and is slipping in and out of consciousness. We all know Emma and Phil and they have touched our life’s (literally!) in lots of ways. True love conquers all and I believe Emma’s love (and Taylor’s too) got Phil through his first 24-48 hours post accident. Emma has been flooded with messages of support and love since the accident and this too she believes helped get the big guy out of the woods so quickly and transferred to the orthoapedic ward.

As you all are aware Emma and Phil work for themselves and Phil is in for a long recovery following his operation. We all want to help them and yet at the moment all Phil needs is rest and his wife and daughter by his side to get him through this next week and operation. As soon as he is up for visitors Emma/and this page will let you all know. But like myself you are probably dying to do something so this page is set up just for that reason. To help get Emma, Taylor and especially Phil through this next stage without having to worry about background issues like hospital parking, food etc.

When Phil is up to visitors and of course home i am positive we will all flock to him and smother him with love and kindness (which he will totally love 😜) but until then if anyone would like to donate then this secure page is for that. The people at give a little take 5% of the money donated just to run this site and payments are over a secure website. Please do not feel pressured to donate, it is just here as an option.

Once Phil is home and visitors are plenty we will close this page and resort to good ol fashioned kiwi love and bug him senseless.

Thanks to everyone for their love and support so far.

Alaina Collins' involvement (page creator)

I have known Phil and Emma for 14 years and although no one likes asking for help- they could really use some while Phil concentrates on getting better.

Use of funds

The money will go to hospital parking, food and everyday incidentals to allow Emma to focus on getting Phil home. If there is a surplus it will go towards paying for the rehabilitation that Phil will need to get back “running again”

A big successful week for team Hardisty.

Phil’s explorative surgery went well and repair was able to be done so now he is in a sling for the next 6 weeks and will then be ready for rehab! Good timing for the rehab of his new hip too.

He’s had luck on the toilet side which I could imagine would be a huuuuge relief after 4.5 weeks. Hopefully this will help with the appetite, however hospital food apparently isn’t all that pleasant.

Phil also sat for the first time in a chair by himself this week (as you can see in this photo) which was a huge effort but another massive achievement- go Phil!

Emma continues to be the super woman we all know and love her for.

Once again, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank you all for banding together and helping team Hardisty for those first few weeks with this give a little page. Most of us have started descending on Phil and long let this continue- they need our support now more than ever to keep both their spirits up with this long journey of rehab ahead. Ward 77 room 7.

We continue to look forward to hearing all of Phil’s progress but for now I’ll leave that totally in Emma’s hands and close this page.

Thanks again for all the love 💕
