Requiring donations for an upgrade towards the home of 20 residents in Aged Care facility
Canterbury
Geraldine Retirement Villages plans to provide the residents with new high back lounge chairs in the communal lounge were put on hold due to the wage increase of the pay equity legislation. The new legislation resulted in a severe income loss for the facility due to the government not fully funding rural or small Rest Homes. The facility is now unable to commit to the new up grade in the lounge area where residents/family/friends spend many hours engaging in conversations, entertainment and activities.
We are a 20 bed facility (Rest Home Level Care) that are committed to providing our Residents with those qualities in which we all look for in the place we call "HOME".
* Love & Support
* Physical Comfort & Security
* Dignity & Independence
* Privacy
We undertake to provide an environment in which Elder Persons with varying limitations are enabled to maximize their capacity to enjoy life through the meeting of their physical, social, cultural, emotional & spiritual needs.
We would appreciate any donations to enable us to complete this project towards refurnishing the communal lounge for our residents
I am the Registered Nurse of Geraldine Retirement Village and would love to see new lounge chairs for the residents in the communal lounge.
Purchasing modern high back lounge chairs to provide each resident with added support and comfort. Surplus funds will be transferred into the residents activities fund in which the residents decide on what to spend this on games/entertainment/trips.
