Let's get Georgia to Japan.....Step one on the ladder to the Winter Olympics 2030
Auckland
Growing up in Auckland, Georgia only started skiing in 2019, when she was Year 5. She had a typical progression through learning to ski, spending more time in the snow than on it. In her first year, Georgia qualified for her first North Island Primary School competition by way of being the second reserve for the Westmere School Year 5 Team. Georgia got to race and came dead last.
This experience ignited something, and she announced to her tiger Dad, I’m never coming last again.
By Year 8, despite three COVID-ravaged ski seasons, Georgia had determinedly progressed her skill and race through hours of training at Snow Planet and as many trips to Whakapapa as the lockdowns allowed. In 2022, she won the Auckland Intermediate Championships and took out the Junior Division of the top 5 Inter Club events at Whakapapa representing Ngauruhoe Ski Club.
In 2023 Georgia completed a full Under 16 National Points Race program with the Wanaka Ski Team and was be based in Queenstown, New Zealand.
The 2023 season saw Georgia place 9th overall in the New Zealand Youth Champs and win promotion to the New Zealand Alpine Youth Squad.
This enables her to race internationally and she is focused on the GOLDWIN FIS YOUTH JAPAN CUP 2024 to be held in Naeba in Japan in early march 2024.
Georgia will be representing New Zealand in Slalom and Giant Slalom and will be looking to win this event outright.

Any money kindly donated will be spent on travel and accomodation costs, training lane space and resort specific coaching and insurance. This is not a source of spending money or money for equipment as we have that covered.
End of the road........... 5 March 2024
Well we have reached the end of the road. I’ve exhausted all efforts and have been unable to secure a spot in the NZ team for the Whistler Cup 2024. Protocols and selection criteria are great but when they get in the way of participation they really need reviewing eh Snowsports NZ.
So, the plan now is to put the money you have all kindly donated into a Northern Hemisphere training block over the Summer School Holidays in January 2025. This will be either to Switzerland with QAST (Queenstown Alpine Ski Team) or Canada with NST (Northern Ski Team).
I know this is quite some time away and if you are uncomfortable with this plan please email me with your bank deets on mike@twopointzerodesign.co.nz by Friday, March 15th and I’ll refund your donation happily.
We thank you all again for your generosity and will keep you up to date with developments as they happen…..
