Shear4u - 24 hour shearathon!
Dannevirke, Manawatu-Wanganui
On Jan, 21st, 2023
Four incredibly inspiring every day farmers are going to shear for 24 hours, each fundraising and creating awareness for three charities that they feel passionate about, The Rural Support Trust, #Hear4U & Breast Cancer Society. We will share more of their journey and training stories over the next few months.
We all go through tough times, and their hard yards will symbolise resilience and coming "over the other side" through team spirit, support, and understanding.
Shear4u - 24 hour shearathon!
All funds will be passed to Rural Support Trust, #Hear4U & Breast Cancer Society.
Farmer Profile One - Adam Roe 12 October 2022
"Hi my name is Adam, I am a 38 year old sheep and beef farmer in Dannevirke. A few years ago a few mates and I decided to shear each other's sheep to save a few costs. This resulted in a few sheep being shorn, a few yarns told and a few too many beers drunk. All in all it was a great way to catch up with people and get off the farm. I have decided to participate in this shearathon to raise funds and awareness for all the good rural people out there that are struggling with the high demands of rural life. I would like to thank my wife and three children for supporting and allowing me to partake in this outrageous endeavor" - Adam Roe
