This could happen to anyone, planning for retirement is not supposed to be like this. Please help my husband to sing in the shower again
Auckland
My husband has early onset dementia, he was diagnosed at the age of 57, about 17 months ago. He needs a shower that he can sit on a chair in and our shower is tiny. We have been told that due to his other medical problems he is not going to live long enough for the health department to help us. Our whole way of life is upside down and his spinal disease is causing pain, every time he takes pain relief it impacts on the time he has left to live because his body can't process the medication. He needs full time care but I have to work as well because we are too young and don't qualify. We have sold everything we can, just to keep going and we have nothing left to pay for a new shower.
