The ongoing support of Little Acres Rescue Sanctuary in raising calves rescued from the bobby truck
Nationwide
Throughout August we have rescued 15 calves destined for slaughter on the bobby truck because they were unwanted by the dairy industry. In conjunction with Little Lara Rescue Animals, they are being raised and re-homed as pets/grazers only. This takes an decent amount of cash and we have previously raised close to $1800 through "give a little". This has been so valuable and most appreciated. Below are some photos of the calves that money has supported. However, it has been spent already on buying the calves, milk powder, vet, hay, shelter repairs and moosli. We only intended to resuce 10, but were given 5 extra undersized jersey bobbies and another Fresian boy was recently dropped off. We would really appreciate ongoing support and we also have plans to build a large calf shed for next years calves. The more you give, the more we can help. We are very transparent with donations and are committed to giving these babies the love and care they deserve. As the starfish story goes - we cannot save them all , but for these few here we DID make a difference. Thank you .
Update for 18/09/2014 18 September 2014
We have been given two new calves to raise and find forever homes for. They were born late and so were due for the bobby truck. One boy and one girl. Please help us by donating it would mean so much. I will add photos of them
