Stefan Badenhorst Road to Recovery Support
We need your help and with Stefan's road to recovery, please! Stefan has no medical insurance and he requires financial support.

Hi friends, meet Stefan. He is 22 years old and lives in Jeffreys Bay South Africa. He tragically fell ill in September 2024 and was hospitalized from October 2024. He was diagnosed with TUBERCULOSIS MENINGITIS. His health deteriorated rapidly. He had multiple strokes in all areas of his brain with the biggest lesions in his right temporalis and cerebellum. His left lung collapsed and also had cardiac arrest. He was in a coma for 2 months and SURVIVED all this trauma. But with EXTENSIVE BRAIN DAMAGE, he is paralyzed and has lung complications. Stefan is currently in the Aurora Rehabilitation Clinic in Port Elizabeth/Gqaberha. He can move his right hand a little and has recognition of friends and family. The rest of his body has no function. He will be discharged soon to come home. We need your help as a family with prayer and finances. PLEASE, if it is possible for you to assist, we will greatly appreciate it as a family. The more people that can give just a little can go a long way in South Africa! Much love. Use of funds
Home upgrade to accommodate Stefan's medical needs. A hospital bed at home, nappies, urinal collectors, bed pads, and syringes for PEG feeding and food. Medical equipment for monitoring, he will need full-time (24/7) private care.

Stefan's day out to the beach 20 April 2025
Hi Givealittle, Today is Saturday 19 April 2025.
I would like to share a few pics about Stefan on his very first outing in 8 months to our lovely beachfront #Dolphin Beach in Jeffreys Bay South Africa (https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/stefan-badenhorst-road-to-recovery-support/photos)!! We live a 5 minute walk to the beach, and Stefan used to go to the beach almost every day of his life!!
Stefan is much more content being back home from the hospital. We are still in need of a proper vehicle to transport Stefan lawfully and safely! There are many challenges we are also facing to adapt to this new lifestyle for Stefan and for us as a family, i.e., Physically, emotionally, and financially!
Please know that your financial gift makes a big difference in South Africa.
It takes many small drops to fill a bucket....
Please consider maybe just giving the equivalent of one of your favorite drinks to Stefan.
