Danielle needs life saving surgery in Germany for abdominal vascular compressions
Chartwell, Hamilton
Our bright beautiful Danielle has recently been diagnosed with abdominal vascular compressions (AVCS). These compressions mean that Dani can’t eat normally because even a small amount of food causes excruciating pain, nausea and vomiting. The added complication of having Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) which causes connective tissue fragility, makes her condition even more difficult. Dani is currently being fed via an NJ tube which bypasses her stomach and delivers all important nutrition directly to her small intestine. Even walking a short distance is now a struggle as the pain is constant, despite strong pain medication. Most of her day is now confined to a bed.
Most of 2025 and now this year has been spent in hospital with discharges home often ending up in an ambulance ride back to ED as the pain becomes unmanageable.
Unfortunately the surgery Dani needs for the AVCS is not available in NZ so we have been left with no other option but to seek treatment overseas in Germany.
Dani is a bright, energetic and very sporty young teen. She is a talented football player who desperately wants to get back to the field and being goal keeper for her team. Karate is another one of her passions that she dreams of being able to do again.
Any donation will be so gratefully received to help Dani reclaim the life she deserves to live as a normal teenage girl free of pain and able to eat normally. We are so thankful for all of the prayers and messages of support we have received so far.
Donna and Rob Seiga are Danielle’s parents
We are hoping to raise $200,000 to cover the cost of the surgery, various pre and post operative tests, flights and accommodation and post surgery care.
