Acholi Resilience - support the development of sustainable farms and schools in Northern Uganda.
International
Hey everyone!
I'm excited to be heading off to Northern Uganda with Moses Otto, who's not just a friend but also the director of Acholi Resilience, a charity doing incredible work in the Acholi lands where he grew up.
Acholi Resilience has set up this amazing farm for the community, a place that will be able to provide sustainable living for the community. Together, we're beginning working on building a culvert for the farm, something that's not just a structure but a game-changer for the locals.
The amazing work Acholi Resilience are doing is about creating a lasting impact. The culvert will help the community thrive, providing essential support for their agricultural efforts.
And here's where you come in. We're looking for support – donations big or small – to make this project a success. I genuinely believe that with friends and family backing us, we can make a significant difference. So, if you're up for it, join us in supporting Acholi Resilience. Let's go!
Cheers,
Dan McGill
I am a friend and associate of Moses Otto (Director of Acholi Resilience), and I am currently in Uganda with him, coaching football in the villages which he and his charity support in rural areas of northern Uganda.
Acholi Resilience has already purchased 200 acres of land and a tractor to help plough the land. Further money will be spent on the building of a culvert that allows a tractor to cross the river surrounding the land.
A Big Thanks 25 February 2024
Hello!
Moses and myself are now back home in Tasmania and we'd like to give everyone a quick update on what was achieved by Acholi Resilience in Northern Uganda over the summer.
Two culverts and a new road were put in once it became clear the original proposed site for the culvert was not feasible. The Acholi Resilience farm now has access for vehicles, year round, which led to the clearing and ploughing of the farm, ready for planting once the rain begins to fall again.
3 bore holes have been drilled around the property, bringing clean water to a community that, previously needed to travel 8km just to be able to buy it!
Work also began on a storage facility for harvested grain.
Thank you for all your donations, without which, none of this would have been possible.
Please follow Acholi Resilience's future and don't hesitate to reach out.
Dear Denny, thank you so much for your generosity, on behalf of Acholi Resilience :) Dan
