Help support Stu Eaton and his family as they navigate a recent lung cancer diagnosis

Hamilton, Waikato

Stu; the best husband, dad, brother, friend, colleague and top bloke you’ll ever meet. Always trying to go above and beyond to help and give a lending hand to us all.

A cold beer from his fridge, an avocado or passionfruit from his garden, a warm hug or handshake he is your man.

Stu and his family would love your help in any way of support as they navigate the recent diagnosis of Stu’s stage 4 lung cancer. Only eight weeks ago Stu got an annoying cough that wouldn’t go away. After a trip to the doctors and antibiotics not working further tests went underway and just yesterday they received the devastating news that confirmed not only lung cancer (stage 4) but the spread outside of the lung and to the lymph nodes.

A scary diagnosis that is not operable and chemotherapy and radiotherapy will help give him more time.

Stu has and will be off work along with Trudi (his wife) and kids who will be by his side. His energy levels are low and he is very short of breath with coughing.

Trudi is due for a replacement hip surgery in two weeks time that she has been waiting many years for and although the timing isn’t great it doesn’t make sense to delay it as her mobility is imperative to help her husband over this next while.

If you can help their family in any way cover costs while time off work is taken, treatments, travel or meals made. The specialists have said we need to fatten him up so he is strong and ready to take on the treatments

Thank you from the bottom of the Eaton family hearts

Update on Dad  2 June 2025

Thank you for all your support, donations, positivity and for keeping Dad in your thoughts and prayers. He continues to battle on and keep up the amazing fight no matter the challenges.

Dad’s been on the new immunotherapy drug for about four weeks now and although the side effects are some of the worst he is holding on for dear hope. In about ten days he is due a CT scan which we are hopeful will bring some more positive news and the drug might be doing something to fight this dreadful cancer. Right now he’s stuck in hospital waiting on an urgent MRI to find some answers for his current state. Dad’s third hospital stay in a couple of weeks - We will keep you posted 🙏

Thanks again for those who have donated to take some pressure off Mum and Dad. His current drugs are $6.5k a month or $8k if not bought in bulk.

Let’s see what this month brings ❤️

Go Dad; you’re an inspiration to many. You have given so much in kindness and love over the years and it’s time we and the universe looked after you.

We still kindly request that you check before visiting, you’re not sick and visits are short.

Thanks again,

The Eaton family :) x
