Join us in supporting the youngest team tackling 'The MAGNIficent,' a 6-day adventure race through Fiordland!
Taranaki
We’re taking on the New Zealand leg of the Adventure Race World Series race, the MAGNifcent (www.themagnificentnz.com). This is a 6-day, non-stop adventure across Fiordland, New Zealand. This rugged race will push us to our limits as we trek, bike, pack raft and navigate through breathtaking but unforgiving terrain.
We will be competing against another 49 teams which will include top adventure racers from around the world. Although we will be the youngest team competing (combined team age of 75 at the start line), between us we hold numerous secondary school and national adventure racing titles. In our latest event, we came first at the 2024 Marokopa Munter 24-hour race.
Our team consists of Mercy Jones, Nicholas Dunnet, Lottie Moffat and Marco Kraayenhof with the team name the “Taranaki Trailblazers”. We look forward to representing the next generation of adventure racers with determination and grit.
We were lucky enough to win a free entry to the event, however, as we are all current university students, we would appreciate any financial help to help with travel, gear and food so we can concentrate on training and logistics.
Thank you for being part of our journey and helping us make this race truly MAGNIficent.
You will be able to follow all teams live from their website during the race period.
