Support Stu's sudden battle with bone cancer in his spine. Hospital treatment can't cure his cancer but it can help him be more comfortable.
Waikato
Stuart Barclay injured his back at work and thought it was just one of those Builder things, after months off work in pain he never expected the diagnoses of cancer in 90% of his spine &also throat.
The form of cancer is incurable & so aggressive bringing agonizing pain, seeing the usually active man find even simple daily tasks painful, tiring and difficult. Treatment to try manage the cancer ravaging his body will involve ongoing hospital appointments meaning a 2 hour round trip for himself and wife Jo.
The 64 year old is a former consecutive NZ Champion clay target shooter, and has represented our country many times at world champs over the years. He was looking forward to retirement, having time out with his dog, duck shooting &hunting, and doing all the things he and his wife had been anticipating.
He adores his 3 grandchildren and had spoken the many plans for spending time together as well as supporting them in their dreams.
Stu and Jo were investing any residual income into their villa, now sad as there was no indication they needed to financially support themselves in this awful time;while the usual suspects try to avoid helping them with basics. Sad as they have been down a similar road years prior when Stu needed a kidney removed because of a cancerous tumor.
Stu has been left physically unable to work, leaving them both struggling with their mortgage and necessities on Jo's part time wages and with petrol prices the trip to receive the needed treatment is hard to fund.
This is for my wonderful father
Petrol to travel for treatment and keep Stu comfortable
Dad's Birthday 30 April 2023
We recently threw Dad a party to celebrate his 65th birthday early. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the Waitomo Club and had a great afternoon with family and friends. Thank you all who came to share this with us ❤
Dad continues to soldier on though his health slides. He is currently in Hospice care trying to manage his pain to get through each day.
We thank you all for your continued love and support x

Thanks so much x
Thank you so much Tepa, your love and support for my dad means the world. You didn't have to do this, Dad still talks about Caleb and yourself visiting the other day and that meant more to him than anything. Thank you so so much though, you're amazing! Stace
Thank you so much Marc x
