Support Young Mum Shauna In Her Fight Against Breast Cancer

Shauna was diagnosed with Grade 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer on 18th September. This was shocking news to receive shortly after the birth of her & Mako’s second baby, Mack.

Triple Negative Breast Cancer has a very selective treatment process meaning a number of drugs that can be used to fight other breast cancers, won't work for Shauna’s fight. Shauna started weekly Chemotherapy treatments on 15th October.

Oncologists have advised the way forward is intense Chemo and an immunotherapy drug called Keytruda. The bad news is Keytruda is not funded and not covered under health insurance which leaves Shauna & Mako with a huge medical bill of up to 70k. This is not something that Shauna needs when she is to be focusing on keeping a positive mindset for her journey and being a mum to 3 year old Amelia, and 13 week old Mack. She faces a tough 10 months of chemotherapy, surgery, and Keytruda infusions. Although a very tough few months ahead, Shauna & her family are confident of a positive outcome once treatment is completed.
