Support Bettyanne and Dakota Crawford to adjust to life after Keith's death

Auckland

This give-a-little page has been set up by close friends of the Crawford family to provide a way for other friends, family and colleagues of Keith, Bettyanne and Dakota to provide some financial support at this terribly sad time.

Keith, Bettyanne and Dakota had taken a long awaited and hard earned break, travelling to Nouvelle-Caledonie on Friday 8th Dec for a week's holiday. On Sunday 10th Dec they were snorkeling together when Keith suffered a heart attack, and despite prompt assistance from local services he died on the beach.

Bettyanne and Dakota are heart-broken. There are no words to describe the depth of their loss or grief, following a period of twelve months which has seen this family lose both Bettyanne's and Keith's respective mothers, and Bettyanne's brother. They are now working through the complications of handling a death offshore, and the prospect of returning home to a Christmas they couldn't have imagined, and picking up the pieces as a one income family.

Keith Crawford was a creative, engaging, endearing, generous, caring and optimistic friend and colleague to many. He was proud of his Irish roots and his Pacific connections. He will be dreadfully missed. Please do what you can to support Bettyanne and Dakota at this time as they begin to navigate life without him.

I offer my sincere condolences for the loss of our colleague, Keith, who taught alongside me at Onehunga High School. Keith's wife shared the same Fijian roots as us, deepening our connection. I fondly remember our collaborative efforts to expand our Fijian vocabulary. His passion for teaching and warm presence will be greatly missed.
