Helping those living in the community with Cystic Fibrosis
Nelson / Tasman
Three woman one goal Help our bro and sis in the community living with Cystic Fibrosis
We are taking on the 6hr Nelson Summer Challenge adventure race
That is Kayaking, hiking and biking.
We are training when we can between family, work and study to do the best we can. We are conquering fears (big drop and corners on bikes)and pushing our limits and taking on new skills. Becoming stronger and fitter to make a difference to the lives of those living with Cystic Fibrosis.
Cystic Fibrosis is a life limiting condition, affecting multiple organ include lungs and pancreas. Drugs are being developed that have been shown to make a huge impact on the lives of those living with CF, but they are not here yet. People are still getting sick and take a long time to recover and some are dying. They need aid to try prevent sickness (breath for life grant, encourage exercise to keep lungs clear from bacteria), they need support when taken sick (welfare grants, families where can not work due to off sick we can help pay energy bill in the cold harsh winter when sick leave is gone or give a support pack to a child who has been stuck in hospital for six week and no clear idea of when going home)
So Team 65brosis are putting in the hard yards to ask you to support us, supporting our bros and sis living with Cystic Fibrosis
The Nelson Marlborough branch of Cystic Fibrosis NZ work together to raise funds to support people and their families in the local community living with Cystic Fibrosis. Providing assistance for Equipment, Welfare issues and Education.

Seven weeks to go crashes and lifestyle changes 26 January 2021
So we have seven weeks till the main event now hope Covid stays away.
This week there has been some crashes with luckily result being cuts and bruises and broken seats but nothing serious.
Also some have taken this week to look at there lifestyle and make changes to help lose a few extra pounds to make this challenge a little easier but also help with general fitness in the future.
Going to try do some upper body sessions this week to help give our kayaking a fighting chance .
Thanks again for all the support so far and here is hoping CoVid does not rear its ugly head again.
Thank you so much. Very much appreciated
