Help Us On Our Trip For The Mongol Rally!

We are a group of kiwis that decided that a bright idea would be to take part in a rally with a car that is to be driven almost 15,000kms!

Auckland

What is the Mongol Rally I hear you say?

-It is simply put the greatest motoring adventure on the planet.

What makes it the greatest motoring adventure on the planet?

-The Mongol Rally thunders along 15,000 kilometers of roads starting from London and finishing north of Mongolia in Ulan-Ude (hopefully). In between that is approximately 18 countries filled with wrong turns, potholes and crooked cops. There’s no backup, no support and no set route; just us, our fellow adventurists and a tiny 1200cc car your Grandma turned down for being too gutless.

But what is the rally actually about?

-The Mongol Rally is about getting lost, using our long neglected wits, raising shed loads of cash for charity and scraping into the finish line with our vehicle most likely in tatters and a wild grin smeared across our inevitably grubby faces. It is guaranteed that neither our car, nor our lives, will ever be the same again.

Wait what was that last bit about charity?

-Oh yes, we almost forgot to mention that the entire rally is for Charity! Well actually 2 Charities, the save the Earth Foundation and also our chosen charity of the Starship foundation. If you would like to contribute towards our Charity page, head on over https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/the-captain-cooks-and-mongol-rally-charity

Ok that's great and all but who are you?

-Simply put we are a group of morons from New Zealand, where else. Tim: the mechanic and in charge of keeping the car alive farther than the driveway, Tom: the team captain in nothing but name, Simon: so tall he'll be driving from the back seat, and Joel: the poorly made knockoff of a lumberjack. Together we have decided that a really bright idea would be to take part in a rally that goes almost halfway round the globe.

Our motto for the rally is "If nothing goes wrong, everything has gone wrong." and we believe that if we put our minds together there's nothing we can't screw up.

Use of funds

As this is likely to all blow up in our faces the money raised will go towards helping us buy and modify our completely suitable car, pay for visas, accommodation, food, tools and on the off chance bribing of the authorities.
