27th February David Pickles ("Pickles") was accidentally pinned between his work truck and another truck suffering serious injuries.
Canterbury
On Monday 27th February David Pickles, or "Pickles" as he's known, left his daughter Danica and fiancee Nadine to go to work as a delivery driver, like any other normal work day. A few hours later Nadine received a call that everyone dreads: Pickles had been involved in an accident.
While unloading his work truck, Pickles was pinned between two vehicles, and suffered extensive serious injuries to both his legs and pelvis.
After multiple surgeries Pickles is currently in a stable condition in hospital, with long-term ongoing treatment required, followed by rehabilitation.
Nadine has also recently had back surgery and is currently unable to work while in recovery.
Please take a moment and consider if this was your family - it could happen to any of us, at any time.
Any donations will be hugely appreciated to help support Pickles, Nadine and daughter Danica as they work their way through such tough circumstances.

I am a family friend. Nobody likes to ask for help and David and Nadine are no different. When asked if a page could be created for them they gave it careful consideration and thought before agreeing.
Funds raised are for use as the Pickles family see fit.
8th operation 21 August 2018
Hi all, I,'ve just had my 8th operation since my accident.
This one was to remove the 4-5 plates & 20 odd screws in my lower left leg between knee & ankle, once the specialist got them out he then broke my lower leg to rotate it & then inserted a titanium rod into my lower leg. It was a 5hr operation and then 3hrs in recovery.
I spent 4 days in hospital and now I'm home recovering & I cannot return to work for 3 months while I heal.
So I still have a long way to go before I'm anywhere near back to normal, so I have plenty of physio and pool work to do in the coming months.
So I'm back to 80% from ACC which makes it very hard on myself & my family.
Thank you.
