Help fund me and my family with my ongoing health issue costs and helping with every day care and life

Rangiora, Canterbury

Over the last year and a half i have been in constant pain and discomfit which has forced me to stop working and has made life hard not only on me but my friends and family.

After 3 lumbar punctures, 7 MRIs, 5 CT scans, countless blood tests and few other tests.

To find out I have damaged L4 and L5 vertebrae and Multiple sclerosis (MS) to go along with my asthma, depression and insulin dependent diabetes

Here is a bit of info, i have cerebellum MS causing acute and chronic symptoms. Cerebellar signs contribute significantly to clinical disability, and symptoms such as tremor, ataxia, and dysarthria are particularly difficult to treat.

I have a few cerebellum brain lesions and 6-7 lesions on my spinal cord which has given me really bad daily fatigue, tingling, numbness and pain on the my left side of my body (shoulder all the way down to my foot). muscle weakness, balance and co ordination problems. speech and memory problems and other central nervous system problems, I have MS relapses causing more progression. MS is an unpredictable disease no one really knows much about it and there is no cure but there is medication to help deal with it to a certain degree. I have a 5 year old daughter who is my world having back injuries and ms has made me miss out on a lot of special moments that i can never get back.

A huge part of MS is it attacks mainly your mobility so before I become less mobile i want to do so much with my family but funding it is difficult when you have barely enough every week just for food and bills and then on top of that i have other costs such as transport to and from specialist appointments, exercise equipment and programs.

I also suffer with a few phenomenon/signs

lhermitte's sign (Is a sudden sensation resembling an electric shock that passes down the back of your neck and into your spine and may then radiate out into your arms and legs. It is usually triggered by bending your head forward towards your chest.)

uhthoff's phenomenon (Is described a transient worsening of neurological symptoms related to a demyelinating disorder such as multiple sclerosis when the body becomes overheated in hot weather, exercise, fever, saunas, or hot tubs.)

romberg sign (The Romberg sign is present when a patient is able to stand with feet together and eyes open, but sways or falls with eyes closed)

So i thought i would make a little fundraiser any donation would be humbling and appreciated, as I know it is hard times for most people right now with covid affecting everyone

Sadly it looks like I will never work full time again or even part time doing what I love (being in a kitchen)

Please share this around as a few dollars here and there might not seem like a lot but it means the world to me and my family thank you from the bottom of my heart

The money will help me with bills, transport, exercise equipment and programs and day to day life. Thank you all in advance.

Use of funds

The money will be used to help pay my day to day expenses and special trips to hospitals and specialist appointments, I am unsure as how much these will cost at this time, I only have a limited government benefit

Got my results back from an MRI I had done back in june good and bad news.

There is no new MS activity in the brain just the stuff already there which means the tysabri infusions are working there. But there is new and ongoing inflammation and lesions on spinal cord which is affecting my mobility a lot, not much they can do sadly just have to wait and see 😕
