Toni is shaving her head to raise money for her local breast cancer support service in the Western Bay of Plenty
Bay of Plenty
Toni O'Daly has joined forces with Michelle Burning to raise money for breast cancer in October - breast cancer awareness month. These wonderful women want to support a cause that is dear to both of them and in a very personal way. If she raises $750 she will join Michelle in going bald.
It won't be the first time I have shaved my head. The first time was for child cancer and the second was because of the chemo that helped treat my own breast cancer.
This is a deeply personal action I am taking and I'm doing it because this organisation has been so supportive to me while I had my treatment and this is one way I can give back.
Providing emotional and practical support to people in the Western Bay of Plenty living with breast cancer.
All money raised will be used to provide support to the approximately 250 people who are diagnosed with breast cancer in the Western Bay of Plenty each year. This includes emotional support, support buddies, dinner delivery, massage, counselling, group and partner support, education sessions, meditation retreats, library, mastectomy cushions, drainage bags and they even do the morning and afternoon teas at the chemo ward.
