Help our long term Foster Pup Luna get TPLO Cruciate Surgery.
New Lynn, Auckland
Luna (our long term foster) will be turning 2 on 15 June 2023
Earlier this year she suffered an injury to her leg and after recent vet visit it has been confirmed that she severed her cruciate.
She will require cruciate surgery as soon as we can find the funds, the cost is estimated from $3,000-$4000 depending on the outcome and after care. Luna is loved by her family and at under 2 years old, Luna deserves the best possible full active life running with her best mates at the beach and park. As you can see from her photos she is a very active young Boxer Cross who loves life and being out with her friends, both big and small.
Much to her disappointment she has been unable to accompany her foster brothers and sisters and mates for park exploring, beach trips to Kakamatua etc. She is doing okay with joint supplements/pain relief and we have limited her to small street walks and on-lead outings. It breaks our hearts that she gets left behind so as not to aggravate or cause more damage to her leg. Ultimately If left untreated she will most likely develop severe arthritis and possible damage to other cruciate!!.
Despite her pain, she is the most beautiful loving, tenacious, socialite with both humans/canine alike and we intend to do everything in our power to get her back to her active self again.
Please no judgement, but if you could find it in your heart to help us fund her surgery this year. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.

TPLO Cruciate Surgery at Western Veterinary - Avondale, Auckland and aftercare
LUNA HAS HAD HER SURGERY 20 August 2023
Hi Friends,
Luna is home after having her surgery on Wednesday, she is weight bearing on the leg and using it tentatively. A big thank you to the team at Western Veterinary in Avondale for the fabulous care they gave to Luna, osteoarthritis had formed in the joint so they had to remove it during the surgery so her rehab is going to even more important, take it slow is the key.
Like all two year old's she is keen to get back in to the action, she has a cone which she hates and 5 minutes of lead walking for a toilet break and then back to the crate for rest and recovery. Poor girl just wants out to be with her friends.
Thank you for your generosity, love and support through this tough time, we will keep you posted on how she is getting on over the next month of quiet recovery time and hope to see you all at the park or beach in the coming months.
Love from Luna and us.
