Children in Tibet Project

$1,765 donated
Given by 46 generous donors in 3 years

We will be giving through the donations the fundamental, and often costly, provisions to support the monk’s initiative in Tibet.

Canterbury

In two villages in Eastern Tibet local monasteries have organized with families in the area to participate in the improvement of their children's access to better education. In remote areas farming families are disadvantaged when wanting to give their children an education.

We will be giving through the donations the fundamental, and often costly, provisions to support the monk’s initiative. 100% of the funds raised will be used to buy text books, stationary and pay qualified teachers.

Why have we been moved to do this?

Christchurch has the privilege of a Tibetan Resident Teacher, Geshe Nyima Dorjee. He has given up his life, his monastery and being with his family and friends to remain in Christchurch and offer his wisdom, his loving compassion and support all of us here. He is doing this so ‘we’ can have meaningful lives. Tsa-ku is his village and we want to repay his kindness and truly help those that deserve and need support.

About us

The Centre offers sessions on meditation and the core teachings of Tibetan Buddhist philosophy to benefit its members and the wider community. It also supports the education of children in Tibet and Tibetan monks and refugees who are in exile in India.
